Pain Management in Frisco

Are you tired of living with persistent pain? Frustrated by temporary fixes that don’t solve the root of the problem? At Taylor Family Chiropractic, we’re excited to introduce a groundbreaking solution that could change your life: The Matrix by NeuroMed.

NEW PATIENTS

What is the Matrix by NeuroMed?

The Matrix is an advanced pain modulation technology developed by NeuroMed, a global leader in pain reduction solutions for over 30 years. This innovative system uses high-frequency electroanalgesia—essentially, an electrical nerve block—to deliver powerful relief without addictive medications, costly injections, or risky surgery.

How Does It Work?

The Matrix generates comfortable electrical impulses at high frequencies that temporarily deactivate pain fibers. Think of your pain fibers like a muscle—The Matrix “exercises” that muscle so rapidly that it becomes fatigued and shuts off. Many patients even fall asleep during treatment due to its calming effects.

Even better, the relief is cumulative. For example:

  • First treatment: 8-24 hours of relief
  • Second treatment: 16-36 hours
  • Continued care: Increasingly long-lasting results

What Conditions Can the Matrix Treat?

Dr. Mark Taylor uses the Matrix to effectively manage a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Chronic back and neck pain
  • Sciatica and radicular symptoms
  • Knee, shoulder, and elbow pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Tennis and golfer’s elbow
  • Neuropathy
  • And many more soft tissue conditions

The Matrix is particularly effective for those nagging extremity issues that may not respond as quickly to traditional chiropractic adjustments alone.

Is the Matrix Right for You?

The Matrix is an excellent option for many patients, especially those who:

  • Have lost their normal quality of life
  • Have limited range of motion or loss of normal function in a joint(s)
  • Want to avoid medication or surgery
  • Are dealing with chronic, persistent pain
  • Have neuropathy related to diabetes or post chemo related neuropathy
  • Are nervous about traditional chiropractic adjustments
  • Prefer not to have chiropractic adjustments at all

There are very few contraindications to using the Matrix. Those include patients who are pregnant or are attempting to get pregnant, have active cancers or malignancies, pacemakers, or active fractures. During your consultation, we’ll thoroughly review your health history to ensure the Matrix is safe and appropriate for you.

What to Expect During Your Matrix Treatment

A typical Matrix session lasts 20-30 minutes. Patients are always permitted to choose the position they feel most comfortable in for the duration of the treatment. At that time the Matrix sponges are attached to the area being addressed. You’ll feel a gentle sensation as the machine works its magic. Most patients experience significant relief after just one session, but we typically recommend a series of treatments for optimal results. Your doctor will develop a personalized care plan based on your specific condition and needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does electroanalgesia do?

The MATRIX System offers a safer alternative for those looking to avoid the risks of prescription medication. Using the NeuroMed Electroanalgesic Delivery System with MATRIX software, it’s the only medical technology that applies unique Multi-Algorithm, Multi-Frequency programs. The system delivers pure, high-frequency signals through an advanced High Definition frequency generator (HDfg)™, resulting in immediate pain relief that improves with each session. This innovative approach has helped patients across the country experience lasting relief by disrupting the pain cycle.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing loose-fitting clothing that allows us access to treat the area of complaint. If the area cannot be accessed by moving clothes aside, then you will need to bring something to change into. For example, if we’re addressing your knees, please wear shorts.

What happens if I am late to my appointment?

While we understand that life happens, late arrivals may receive an abbreviated treatment. Patients who are more than 10 minutes late to their appointment may be asked to reschedule due to high demand.

Are these treatments invasive?

No, the treatments are performed by placing the surface electrodes over specific areas of the body.

What does it feel like?

Many patients say the treatment is enjoyable, with a gentle pulsing massage-like sensation. This treatment should never hurt and is applied to either sensation or tolerance, never more!

My treatment was combined with a device or suction cups. I enjoyed the massage, but it left some red rings on the skin under the suction cups. Is this harmful?

Not at all! The Vasopneumatic effect is very similar to cupping, which is incredibly popular right now in massage therapy. The suction creates microcirculation, allowing the soft tissue to heal faster. Some patients with fair complexions or sensitive skin may see some suction-induced redness, but not to worry, as this is temporary and should disappear in a short period of time.

Are there any side effects?

There are minimal side effects associated with electroanalgesic treatment. Depending upon the individual and their medical condition, possible side effects may include a relaxed or fatigued sensation, mild headache, increased bowel activity, the original pain seeming to move to a new location, and muscle soreness.
